Plan to Idle Monaca Smelter Risks 400 Jobs from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Horsehead announced Monday it will build a new smelter at a cost of more than $350 million in Rutherford County, about 80 miles west of Charlotte. The plant will employ about 250 and be able to produce 150,000 tons of zinc a year."
